Sr Systems Engineer

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Database Analyst/Systems Engineer to join our Financial Services team in Cypress, CA. This role needs to be detail-oriented, tech-savvy and solution driven and will play a key role in supporting/enhancing our Systems. This role will be primarily responsible for the configuration, maintenance, development and optimization of our Loan Origination/Management Systems to ensure seamless loan processing, compliance, and operational efficiency. They will also be responsible for development, deployment and maintenance of YMFC-US websites and platforms (primarily AWS cloud platforms).

What you'll be doing:

  • Configure, maintain, and develop in the YMFC-US LOS (Loan originations) platform (Defi other LOS e.g., Encompass, Empower, Meridian Link, etc.).
  • Collaborate with business users (Risk/Credit policy/Compliance/DSC), IT, and vendors to gather requirements and implement system enhancements.
  • Design, develop, maintain and secure the cloud environment on AWS using services such as EC2, VPC, Lambda Functions, IAM policies and roles and other services as needed.
  • Manage and maintain version control for data engineering projects using GitHub, including repository setup, branch management, and pull request reviews.
  • Design, code and test changes/application integration following standard SDLC processes in a compliant and secure environment.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics, database management, and cloud platforms.
  • Document data infrastructure and processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data quality and security standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Ability to promote change in an environment of rapidly changing technologies and business processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously to achieve results.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with users at all levels throughout the organization.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 + years of experience in consumer lending/financial services like industry.
  • Experience with fintech /loan applications type environment is a plus
  • Proficiency in programming languages like JavaScript, Python, Java, C#.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda)
  • Exposure to data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and data analysis.
  • Exposure in writing SQL queries (e.g., Snow SQL, Oracle SQL).
  • Exposure with GitHub for version control.
  • Ability to lead and take initiative for improving the existing processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skill is required
  • Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment

Pay:

$71,000 to $135,000

Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha's Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
